Every week, one or two videos may be assigned. All you need to do is watch the videos. There's an automated system that reports back to the instructor on if students watch the video, or if they do not. Be sure to watch the video through to the end to receive credit. Your points should automatically appear in the Canvas Grading system. Although you may not fast forward (after all, it's assumed you are "watching" the video), you may increase the playback speed and rewind and re-watch as many times as you wish. This is a completely new system and I'm still learning how to set it up properly. If there are problems, let me know.
My hope is that you will enjoy the different specifically targeted resources that I will be directing you to for this class. I have tried to mix it up where we have some lectures, some specific readings, some videos, some articles to review, and some videos. I am not trying to make busy work for you, but rather, trying to introduce you to an array of different historically significant characters, books, writings, theories, etc. These are people and ideas that have changed the world. I hope you will find value in each of these resources. They are not chosen for glamor, shininess, or pomp, but for substance, ideas, and depth of historical significance and context.
This week's video is about the life of Stephen Hawking. It's a PBS Video called "Stephen Hawking A Personal Journey"
